Tropical Storm Bertha made landfall in southern Louisiana on Wednesday afternoon as it tracked westward along the Gulf Coast.
Bertha, the second named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, is expected to bring heavy rain, coastal flooding and possible flash flooding to the region through the end of the week, forecasters said on Wednesday.
Tropical storm conditions were possible for parts of the southwestern coast of Louisiana by tonight and along the upper Texas coast by Thursday. Bertha's strong winds could push seawater inland, causing flooding in areas along the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and parts of the Florida Panhandle.
